CHAIRMAN'S CHAT

Greetings to all SBC Members and Guest Readers!

Those of you who were at our April meeting will remember the 24-hour special offer I shared with you, so I thought I'd update you with how the promotion went. For those who weren't there, it was a marketing exercise by the publishers of a new book called '...and Death Came Third!' by our old friend Andy Lopata, MD of BRE, and professional speaker Peter Roper. Find out more about this useful little book in which Andy and Peter share their wealth of experience and insider secrets on networking and public speaking at www.deathcamethird.com

Free Goodies!
The publishers wanted to encourage lots of people to buy the book on the same day and get to the top of the Amazon best-seller list. So, if you spent £14.95 on the book itself (good value) they were offering bonus free downloadable mp3 recordings and ebook versions of 'goodies' with a nominal value of over £2,000! These included:

  • " the complete 200-page book "Networking for Life" by Ecademy.com's Chairman, Thomas Power (usually £20)
  • " he complete yet-to-be-released 50-minute "Soul Millionaire" interview with marketing guru Robert Middleton
  • " the complete 180-page Lean Marketing bible "The Gorillas Want Bananas" (I'd already bought my paperback copy for £10!)
  • " 4 audio clips on Trusting Your Intuition, Reading Other People, Overcoming Fear of Rejection and Influential Language from acclaimed NLP trainer - Jamie Smart
  • " "117 Ways To Sell Almost Anything to Almost Anyone" by Peter Thomson the UK's Leading Business Growth Strategist
  • " the "Talk Propper" self-study manual for professional speakers by past Professional Speaker's Association President, Jim Ewan
  • " a 1-hour "Most Commonly Asked Presentation Questions" interview with Maria Davies, Presentation Trainer and Author of Speaking in Stilettoes
  • " plus ebooks, special reports, audios and special offers from the likes of Lesley Everett, Tracy Plaice, David Scarlett, Judy Barber, David Hyner, John Sealey and more…

Fantastic value…
This was an amazing offer, so I'm glad some of our Members and Guests (and their contacts) were able to take advantage of it and grab a wealth of business information and advice for peanuts! The money saved would certainly go a long way towards paying your SBC subscription for the next few years! It's another example of how we always try to offer great value for money for our Members and supporters.

How did the marketing exercise go? Read a summary here: http://www.bookshaker.com/amazon-best-seller/ - but remember, only sign up for the full report if you don't mind going onto the publisher's email list (they are very ethical in my experience and you can easily unsubscribe later)!

See you all at the next meeting on 2 May at Guildford College….
